5M.1.DEMO: Single Shared Sign-on for Stacks and Data Access

Helium

Calcium

Description

Demonstrate a method for “single shared sign-on” for simplified access to all the Full Stacks where users of the Full Stacks can login a single time to gain access to run on all the Full Stacks and have access to all the data that user is permitted to access.

What they achieved

Helium: Provided a open source authentication and authorization service https://github.com/heliumdatacommons/auth_microservice.

Calcium: Calcium shows screenshots of a demo wherein they access the Framework Services at University of Chicago to a FireCloud account at the Broad. While this links two services internal to Calcium, it is a first step in linking the stacks.

Why is this valuable?

Single sign-on is an important step towards allowing users easier access to all the Full Stacks and will facilitate their ability to work across the Full Stacks.
